The purpose of the Evacuation Plan is to allow all employees and/or visitors to safely leave a building in the event of an emergency, or to relocate to an area of refuge if conditions warrant.

The evacuation plan includes a review of the facility to determine the location and condition of all means of egress. It reviews the three components of each means of egress.  These three components are the Exit Access (The Way to the Exit) the EXIT (The Physical door or opening) and The EXIT Discharge (the path to a public way or area of refuge and / or safety).
